Balaram Dhurandhar was a distinguished devotee from a family of saint-lovers in Santa Cruz. According to Chapter 51, he was born in Mumbai in 1878 into the Alankar Pathare Prabhu caste. He was highly accomplished, being well-versed in Western education with the title of Advocate, and was also an expert in philosophy and a renowned scholar. Spiritually, he had a great love for Panduranga and was a supreme devotee of Sai. Balaram was known for his sharp intellect, good conduct, and expertise in the Bhagavad Gita and Dnyaneshwari. After a life of intense social service, he merged into Brahman in 1925.
