Can you narrate the story of the man who was averse to idol worship and how his visit to Shirdi changed his mind about giving Dakshina?

📖 Chapter 35

Chapter 35 tells the story of a man, a friend of Kaka Mahajani, who was a devotee of the formless and skeptical of idol worship. He agreed to visit Shirdi out of curiosity but on two conditions: he would not bow his head, nor would he provide any Dakshina. Upon arriving at the mosque, Baba spoke to him in a voice that sounded exactly like his deceased father's. This profoundly moved the man, causing him to forget his resolve and bow at Baba's feet. Later, he felt restless when Baba repeatedly asked Kaka for Dakshina but ignored him. He eventually asked Baba if he could give, and after Baba's insightful reply, he willingly offered seventeen rupees, completely reversing his initial stance.
