After receiving Baba's enthusiastic permission, construction on the inner sanctum began. However, as the project neared completion, Baba fell gravely ill, causing Buti great distress over the future of the mansion. The pivotal moment came with Sai Baba's final words before his passing: "Place me in the mansion." This command from Baba's own mouth resolved all uncertainty.
