Can you explain the scale and nature of the Dakshina that Sai Baba would request from his followers?

Sai Baba's requests for Dakshina were highly variable and often surprising, not limited to small sums. According to Chapter 14, He might ask for just one or two rupees, but could just as easily demand hundreds, thousands, lakhs, or even crores. He would choose the amount as He pleased and would sometimes push devotees to give more, even suggesting they take a loan if they claimed to have nothing left.
