Can you explain the relationship between the Guru and devotee and how it relates to overcoming duality and ego?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 27

Chapter 27 describes the Guru and devotee as unique parts of one whole, so unified that they are not different. If one tries to forcibly separate them, the pride of the doer vanishes. A perfect Guru helps the disciple overcome duality, as there is no room for it in their relationship. The idea of the Guru and disciple living in different villages is seen as superficial because there is no real distance or separation between them. This non-dual worship is the key, as the Guru is the only one who can remove the distinction between the ego-filled individual soul (Jiva) and the all-knowing, egoless Shiva.
