He was attempting to write a commentary called the "Ishavasya-Bhavartha-Bodhini" to explain the Ishavasya Upanishad in simple language. Despite translating it word for word, he felt his work was incomplete because he couldn't grasp its "internal secret," and his mind found no joy. When he brought this doubt to Sai Baba in Shirdi, Baba gave him a cryptic instruction.
