Can you explain the nature of the devotee's surrender and the form of worship described in Chapter 26?

📖 Chapter 26

Chapter 26 beautifully illustrates the ultimate act of devotional surrender. The devotee lays their ego at the Guru's feet, declaring 'from now on, You look after Your own—there is no "me-ness" left in me.' They ask to be moved like a puppet, relinquishing control over pleasure and pain. This chapter also describes a form of internal worship that is considered superior to external rituals. The devotee proposes washing the Guru's feet with 'warm tears of joy,' applying the 'sandalwood paste of pure love,' and clothing Him with 'true faith.' As mentioned in Chapter 26, the ultimate offering is the 'eight-petaled lotus of the eight-fold sattvic emotions,' which is offered with a focused mind to achieve the true fruit of life.
