Can you explain the distinction between the 'Unmanifest' causal body and the 'qualified' Brahman, and the role of ignorance in relation to both?

📖 Chapter 50

Chapter 50 draws a subtle distinction between these concepts, with ignorance (Avidya) being the critical link. The 'Unmanifest' (Avyakruta) is described as the 'causal' (karana) body of the soul, which is the direct result of pure ignorance. It is the unevolved potential from which creation proceeds. In contrast, 'qualified' (shabal) Brahman is Brahman itself, but conditioned or qualified by Avidya. It is this qualification that makes the originally inexpressible Brahman expressible as 'Sat' (Existence) and 'graspable by the intellect.' Therefore, ignorance acts both as the cause of the Unmanifest body and as the conditioning factor that allows Brahman to become the source of the manifest world, from which the Unmanifest then emerges as the first step in creation.
