Can you explain the concepts of Avidya and Maya using the examples from the text?

📖 Chapter 50

Chapter 50 explains that Avidya (ignorance) and Maya (illusion) are the forces that create a false perception of reality. The text provides several analogies to clarify this. For example, Avidya is like seeing a snake where there is only a rope, or perceiving silver in a pearly shell. It's also likened to a mirage, which appears to be water but is just an effect of the sun's rays. Another powerful example given is how whirling a lit firebrand creates the visual illusion of a 'circle of fire' (Agni-kankan), which doesn't actually exist. These examples illustrate how Maya produces a non-existent world, deluding even the wise.
