Can you explain the concept of 'service through books' as it relates to Sai Baba and how it fosters community?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 0

Service through books is a key devotional concept. As detailed in Chapter 0, a Sadguru takes two types of service from his devotees through books: one, by having them study great works he created himself, or second, by having his biographies written by devotees. For Sai Baba, the latter is exemplified by the Shri Sai Satcharita. When devotees collectively study and perform Parayans of this work, the writer gains merit for public service and serving God in humanity (Jan-Janardan), and the participating devotees also achieve the purpose of their lives, thus fostering a strong, spiritually-connected community.
