Can you elaborate on the concept of the Soul as a 'crystal' and the ego as a 'false bondage' as described in Chapter 19?

📖 Chapter 19

In its philosophical exploration, Chapter 19 uses the metaphor of a crystal to describe the true nature of the Soul. Just as a pure crystal remains colorless and distinct yet appears to take on the color of an object placed near it, the Soul is itself changeless and untainted by the world. It only appears to be affected by its surroundings due to Maya, or illusion. This chapter further explains that the ego, the sense of 'I am the body,' is a 'false bondage.' This is likened to mistaking a coiled rope for a snake; the snake is a false superimposition, just as the identification with the physical body is a false reality for the liberated one, as the Soul is ultimately distinct from the body, senses, and mind.
