The story of the wooden plank is a fascinating account of Maharaj's leelas. A devotee named Nanasaheb Dengle, seeing that the Masjid was dilapidated, brought a thick wooden plank for Maharaj to sleep on, so he wouldn't have to sleep on the dusty ground. However, as detailed in the Introduction (Chapter 0), Maharaj used it in a unique way. He hung the plank from the rafters using old rags and began sleeping on it. The rags were not strong enough to hold the plank, let alone Maharaj's body, but did so by his divine power. He would even place four lit lamps at the corners while sleeping. Eventually, because too many people gathered just to see this spectacle, Maharaj broke the plank to remove the distraction.
Can you describe the story of Sai Baba and the wooden plank he used for sleeping?
