Sai Baba's visit occurred in two stages, as he later recounted in chapter 40. First, he appeared alone in the guise of a Sanyasi before the meal was to be served. Dev saw him but did not recognize him. The Sanyasi then stated he would come for the meal with two others. Later, exactly at twelve o'clock, the Sanyasi returned with two companions. All three sat down and were served a full meal as part of the ceremony. Even though Dev served them personally, his mind was clouded by what the text calls a "veil of Maya," and he simply saw them as uninvited guests rather than the fulfillment of Sai's promise.
Can you describe the sequence of events when Sai Baba, in disguise, visited Dev's home for the Udyapan?
