Damu Anna, an older man who had crossed fifty, was positioned leaning forward from the outside, slowly pressing Baba's left hand. At the same time, the devotee known as Mavshibai was engaged in a much more dynamic service. She was pressing Baba's stomach and side, absorbed in her work to the point where she was fearlessly twisting and churning his midsection. Baba, a lifelong celibate, permitted this close service from both men and women, watching neutrally as his followers expressed their devotion in their own unique ways.
