According to Chapter 20 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra, a beautiful and loving scene would unfold after the midday Aarti. Sai Baba would come to the edge of the Masjid and, with a merciful gaze, distribute Udi to the gathered devotees. The devotees would rush to touch his feet, and Baba would lovingly place handfuls of Udi into their cupped hands. With boundless love in his heart, he would also apply the sacred ash to their foreheads with his thumb.
