According to Chapter 20 of the Sai Satcharitra, after the noon Aarti concludes, Sai Baba would come to the edge of the Masjid and, with a merciful gaze, distribute Udi to the devotees. The text describes a beautiful scene where loving devotees would rush to embrace his feet and enjoy the shower of Udi. Baba, with boundless love in his heart, would fill his hands with Udi, place it in the cupped hands of the devotees, and also apply it to their foreheads with his thumb.
