Can you describe the relationship Sai Baba had with his own Guru? How did he serve him and what was expected of him?

📖 Chapter 19

Sai Baba described his relationship with his Guru as one of profound love and intense devotion. In Chapter 19, he recounts serving his Guru for twelve years, during which he was raised with immense affection and never lacked for food or clothing. Baba's service was primarily an act of constant contemplation. He said, "I would gaze at my Guru's face with love day and night; I felt neither hunger nor thirst; without the Guru, my mind was restless." This unwavering focus was all his Guru truly expected. Baba explains, "He desired nothing more than this; he never neglected me and always protected me in times of trouble." This protection was like a merciful glance, compared to a mother tortoise nurturing her young from afar, demonstrating a bond that transcended physical presence and formal instruction.
