The relationship between Sai Baba and Tatya Patil was one of profound, mutual love, so close that there is no comparison for it. As detailed in Chapter 37, Tatya affectionately called Baba 'Mama' (uncle). During the Chavadi procession preparations, Baba would not leave His seat until Tatya arrived. Tatya would then place his hand under Baba's arm to help Him stand up. He also had the honor of placing a beautiful golden-bordered shawl over Baba and adjusting it properly on His head before the procession began.
