Can you describe the Parsi merchant Ratanji's life and the source of his deep unhappiness?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 14

Ratanji was a very famous, religious, and popular Parsi merchant residing in Nizam's state. He possessed immense wealth, including property, carriages, horses, and farms, and was known for his generosity. Outwardly, as Chapter 14 describes, he seemed to be "swimming in an ocean of joy." However, this happiness was marred by a significant inner sorrow, which the text metaphorically calls the "crocodile of a difficult inner worry." The source of this constant worry was that he was childless in terms of a son. Despite having twelve daughters, the absence of a male heir to carry on his lineage made him feel that his vast wealth was fruitless. This lack of a son was a constant source of contemplation and sadness, making him feel that his life was incomplete.
