According to Chapter 37, Sai Baba's nature is described as incomprehensible, marvelous, and profound, like a deep ocean that is difficult to fathom. His state of being is unpredictable; sometimes He is intoxicated with the bliss of the Self (Brahmananda), and at other times, He performs all actions while remaining completely detached. Though appearing inactive, He is always alert and fixed on His own Self-realization.
