Can you describe the incident with Mrs. Khaparde's food offering and explain why Sai Baba showed such unusual interest in it?

📖 Chapter 27

Chapter 27 details an event where Mrs. Khaparde, a very devout lady, brought her daily food offering (naivedya) to the Masjid. Unlike with other offerings which he often set aside, Sai Baba showed immense eagerness for her plate. He immediately got up, went to the dining spot, and prepared to eat. When questioned about this apparent partiality, Baba explained his deep connection to her across lifetimes. He revealed her past lives, stating she had been a grocer's cow, then born to a gardener, a Kshatriya, and a grocer's wife before her current birth in a Brahmin family. He said he was seeing her after a long time and wanted to eat the food offered with love, showing he valued devotion over the material offering itself.
