Can you describe the first miracle that Chand Patil witnessed from Sai Baba?

The first miracle Chand Patil saw is a remarkable event described in Chapter 5 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra. After Baba helped Patil find his lost mare, Baba prepared to smoke his chillum but needed a light. He then performed a wondrous act: he took a pair of tongs (chimta), thrust them directly into the solid earth, and pulled out a glowing ember. He calmly placed this supernaturally-produced coal onto the chillum to light it. This extraordinary deed immediately convinced Chand Patil that he was in the presence of a great saint, an 'Avaliya', and not a mere human.
