Certainly. The first miracle Chand Patil witnessed occurred after he had found his lost mare and returned to the Fakir, Sai Baba. As described in Chapter 5, Baba invited him to smoke a chillum (pipe). To light it, Baba performed a wondrous act. Instead of using a conventional fire source, he picked up a pair of tongs (chimta), thrust them directly into the earth, and pulled out a glowing ember. He then placed this supernaturally produced ember on the chillum to light the tobacco. This amazing deed, detailed in Chapter 5, solidified in Chand Patil's mind that he had met an 'Avaliya' (a great saint) and not just an ordinary human.
