The procession to the Chavadi was a grand, joyous celebration. Chapter 37 describes how the vicinity of the Masjid was lit with many rows of lamps, while arches and flags decorated the crossroads. The air was filled with music from a variety of instruments, including horns, trumpets, the 'Tas' and 'Jhanj', cymbals, mridanga, and veena. As Baba started to go, fireworks like 'Nale' and 'Chandrajyoti' were lit, and torches shone brightly.
