Bapusaheb Jog was given a specific and important assignment by Sai Baba. As Chapter 18 explains, his duty was to conduct daily readings of sacred texts in Sathe’s Wada for the benefit of all devotees. His routine was quite disciplined. Every day after his afternoon meal, Jog would first go to the Masjid to see Baba. There, he would bow at Baba's feet, receive Udi, and formally take permission to begin the reading for the day. With Baba's blessing, he would then proceed to the Wada and start the Parayana (reading) of either the Jnaneshwari or the Nath Bhagawat, offering explanations of the meaning to the listeners whom Baba would often send to him.
