Sai Baba's arrival in Shirdi was connected to a wedding procession. According to the Introduction found in Chapter 0, after staying at Chandbhai's house for a few days, a wedding was arranged for Chandbhai's wife's nephew with a girl from Shirdi. Maharaj, as he was known then, accompanied this wedding procession to Shirdi. The procession stopped in a garden near the Khandoba temple, just outside the village.
