Balaram Dhurandhar was a distinguished devotee from a well-known family of the Alankar Pathare Prabhu caste, born in Mumbai in 1878. Chapter 51 describes him as well-versed in Western education, holding the title of Advocate, and being an expert in philosophy. Despite his father's devotion to Rama, Balaram's refuge was Vithala. He possessed an attractive way of presenting logic, a simple and pure way of thinking, a sharp intellect, and exemplary good conduct. He was also a supreme devotee of Sai who gained expertise in the Bhagavad Gita and Dnyaneshwari.
