Sai Baba was deeply and personally involved in every stage of preparing the food in the Handi. Chapter 38 details how He would personally go to the grocer to buy all the ingredients, including salt, chili, vegetables, and coconut, and would pay in cash on the spot. He would then sit in the Masjid and grind wheat, pulses, and millet using a grinding stone with His own hands. The scripture notes that the main labor for the Handi was done tirelessly by Baba Himself, who also ground the spices with great devotion and personally managed the fire in the hearth.
