According to Chapter 10 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra, Sai Baba's sleeping arrangement was highly unusual and demonstrated his divine nature. He would sleep on a narrow wooden plank, just four cubits long and one span (about nine inches) wide, which was suspended from the rafters like a swing using old rags. What made this truly mysterious was that no one ever witnessed him climbing up onto the plank or getting down from it. The text highlights that despite lamps burning at his head and feet, his movements were completely imperceptible, suggesting that his Great Siddhis (powers) were at play, making the physical support of the plank merely nominal.
