Chapter 33 of the Shri Sai Satcharita details Sai Baba's daily routine, which was rich with symbolism. Baba would regularly ask for Dakshina (offerings) and then perform charitable deeds for the poor and destitute. He would also buy bundles of firewood, which he would offer into the sacred fire, or Dhuni, that was kept constantly burning in the Masjid. The ash that remained from this fire, the Udi, was then distributed to devotees.
