Mavshibai, whose original name was Venubai Kaujalgi, had a very distinct and intense way of serving Sai Baba. She was so absorbed in her service that she did it fearlessly, and Baba seemed completely at ease. However, her extraordinary method provoked different reactions. Damu Anna, for instance, felt pity watching her, finding her method extreme. In a separate but similar instance mentioned in Chapter 24, another devotee became worried and pleaded with the serving lady to be gentler, fearing Baba's veins would break.
