Damu Anna played a significant and long-standing role in the annual Ram Navami festival. According to Chapter 25, he had made a regular vow to provide one of the two large new flags that were taken out in a procession through Shirdi village. This was a tradition he upheld for many years with great love and devotion. The other flag was provided by the Nimonkars.
