Can rituals like sacrifices (Yagya) lead to Self-realization? What is the outcome of such practices?

The teachings in Chapter 17 draw a clear distinction between the outcomes of different spiritual practices. While performing sacrifices (Yagya) to satisfy the deities is a valid practice, it does not lead to the ultimate goal of Self-realization. The text states that such actions will lead to attaining the world of the ancestors (Pitru-loka), where one can enjoy the fruits of their past karma. However, this is a temporary and limited reward. The ultimate realization of the Self is not achieved through these ritualistic means. True realization requires a different path, one that involves purifying the heart and clearing the intellect, which is most effectively done in the Earthly world.
