According to the scriptures, before he became well-known while staying in the mosque, Baba lived for a long time in the Takia, which is a resting place for Fakirs. During his time there, he remained largely undisturbed. Chapter 5 provides a lovely image of his activities during this period, describing how he would tie bells to his feet, dance beautifully to the rhythm of a small tambourine (khanjiri), and also sing sweetly with love. This paints a picture of a more solitary and artistically expressive phase of his life.
Before he was famous in the mosque, where did Baba live and what was he like?
