Before entering the trance, Sai Baba gave very specific instructions. As recounted in Chapter 44, He suffered an asthma attack and declared He would be drawing His life force into the crown of His head for three days. He pointed to a specific spot, saying, "Dig a Samadhi there and keep me in that place." He then firmly told Mhalasapati not to neglect His body for three days and to place two flags at the designated spot as indicative signs.
