Based on the stories of Karnik and Appasaheb, how does Sai Baba test the resolve and faith of his followers?

📖 Chapter 33

Sai Baba tests his devotees' resolve in various ways, as shown in Chapter 33. For Karnik, the test was an unexpected demand for a Rupee from another saint, Narsing Maharaj, which tested his ability to see Sai in all beings. For Appasaheb Kulkarni, the test revolved around fulfilling a verbal promise. After Appasaheb boasted he would give ten Rupees, Baba appeared in the guise of a Fakir to collect, testing Appasaheb's sincerity beyond mere words. The chapter explains that such events are pretexts for Dakshina and lessons in faith, advising devotees to "practice at the occasion as per occasion." These tests challenge followers to overcome the mind's tendency for "resolves and counter-resolves" and to align their actions with their professed devotion.
