The introduction to the Sai Satcharitra describes Maharaj's clothing in some detail. When he first entered the Khandoba temple, he was seen wearing a kafni, a cap, and a dhoti. Chapter 0 further clarifies that his kafni was usually white, and he would tie a dhoti on his head. However, his attire did vary on occasion. One of his devotees, Kashiram Shimpi, once stitched and gave him a green kafni and a green cap, though the text notes that Maharaj's more common appearance was in the white garments.
