Based on his own experience, what does Baba say a Guru really wants from their student?

📖 Chapter 19

Drawing from his personal experience, Sai Baba explains that a true Guru does not desire material things from their disciples. In Chapter 19, he reveals that his own master, a great Auliya, expected only "strong faith at the Guru’s feet and the strength of courage which is patience." Baba spent twelve years serving his Guru, and his master's only expectation was Baba's constant, loving contemplation. He would gaze at his Guru's face day and night, feeling neither hunger nor thirst. The Guru, in turn, offered immense love and protection, much like a mother tortoise nurtures her young with her gaze alone.
