Based on his own experience, what did Baba say a Guru truly expects from a disciple?

📖 Chapter 19

Drawing from his twelve years of service to his own Guru, Sai Baba taught that a Guru does not desire material things or even necessarily give secret mantras. Instead, as detailed in Chapter 19, a Guru expects the disciple's devoted attention and two key virtues. Baba states, "Even if the Guru is very powerful, he expects only the disciple’s wisdom; strong faith at the Guru’s feet and the strength of courage which is patience." He describes his own experience as gazing at his Guru's face day and night, feeling neither hunger nor thirst, with his mind constantly focused on him. This constant, loving contemplation was all his Guru desired.
