Based on Chapter 23, why do saints incarnate on earth, and what is the benefit of hearing their stories?

📖 Chapter 23

According to the teachings in Chapter 23, the incarnations of saints occur on earth out of pure benevolence for the salvation of what it terms "dull-witted souls." This is presented as an act of grace from the Almighty. The chapter further explains that a desire to hear the stories of these saints only arises in a person's heart if they have accumulated merit (Punya). The explicit benefit of listening to these narratives with faith and devotion is the calming of life's calamities, such as sorrow and delusion. As Chapter 23 states, by engaging with these stories, a devotee can quickly attain peace and contentment, finding a way to escape the cycle of distress.
