Based on Chapter 23, what is the fundamental cause of human distress and what is the prescribed solution?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 23

Chapter 23 teaches that the root cause of human distress is the soul's delusion by Maya. In this state, the soul forgets its true nature of Existence-Consciousness-Bliss (Sacchidananda) and mistakenly identifies with the physical body. This identification leads to pride and the false notion of being the 'doer' and 'enjoyer,' which in turn causes a succession of calamities. As the chapter explicitly states, the only way to calm these calamities and escape this cycle of distress is through 'Bhakti Yoga,' which is loving devotion at the feet of the Guru. This path allows the devotee to be colored in the Guru's hue and find peace.
