Baba lived in a mosque, but what made it so different from a typical one?

📖 Chapter 7

According to Chapter 7 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra, the mosque where Sai Baba lived was highly unconventional because it blended practices from multiple faiths. While it was a mosque, Baba maintained a sacred fire (Dhuni) that burned day and night, a practice central to Hindu traditions. The chapter describes how the mosque was a place for the ringing of bells and blowing of conches, the grinding of grain, constant devotional singing (Bhajan), and even the ritual worship of his feet by devotees. High-caste Brahmins would come there to worship him. These activities, detailed in Chapter 7, made the mosque a unique spiritual center that defied religious categorization.
