According to Chapter 38, once the Handi was fully cooked and properly tested, a specific ritual followed before the food was served to everyone. First, Baba would have the Handi taken down from the hearth and brought into the Masjid. The next crucial step was the consecration; He had a Maulvi formally offer the 'Fatya' prayer over the food. Immediately following this blessing, Baba would first send prasad to two specific devotees, Mhalasapati and Tatya. Only after these steps were completed would Baba begin to serve the remaining food to all the other devotees, especially the poor and hungry, with His own hands.
