Overcome with grief and repentance for forgetting the Naivedya, Babasaheb Tarkhad's reaction was immediate and heartfelt. He prostrated at the feet of Sai Baba's photograph, his heart choked with grief, and pleaded for mercy. As recounted in Chapter 9, he felt this was a "great error" and felt utterly helpless. Believing he needed to do more, he wrote a letter to his son in Shirdi.
