When Annasaheb Dabholkar retired in 1916, a concerned devotee asked Baba to find him a new job. However, as recounted in Chapter 3, Baba had a different path in mind. He replied that Dabholkar should now perform His service with devotion. This service was not worldly, but spiritual. Baba clarified that His physical body is perishable, but the imperishable Brahman is what is truly worthy of worship. The service was to cultivate the understanding that Sai is omnipresent, filling all of creation as the eightfold nature (Ashtadha-prakriti). By remaining devoted with this feeling, Baba assured him that his household would find happiness and his plates would never be empty.
After Annasaheb Dabholkar retired, how did Sai Baba instruct him to perform His service?
