The path to Self-realization is specific about its location. Chapter 17 explains that a clear vision of the Self is primarily possible in only two places: the Earthly world (Bhu) or the world of Brahman (Brahmaloka). The Earthly world is particularly desired by seekers because it allows for the purity of heart and a clear intellect, which acts like a mirror reflecting the Self's true nature. In contrast, other realms like the world of the ancestors (Pitru-loka) only grant the fruits of karma, and worlds like Maharloka or Tapoloka offer a very unclear vision. While Brahmaloka is the second option, achieving Self-realization there is described as extremely difficult and requiring many efforts.
According to the teachings, where can one achieve Self-realization, and why are some places better than others?
