According to the teachings in Chapter 37, what causes a soul to be trapped in the cycle of birth and death, and what is the path to liberation?

📖 Chapter 37

Chapter 37 explains that the root cause of being trapped in the eternal cycle of worldly existence (Samsara), with death following birth and rebirth following death, is a fundamental ignorance or delusion. This delusion is the belief that one is separate from the ultimate reality, or Parabrahman. The text states, 'Parabrahman is different from me; I am not that, I am something else'—he who has such knowledge of difference is always subject to death. The path to liberation, or attaining a 'place of fearlessness,' is to overcome this sense of separation. Chapter 37 suggests that this can be achieved by dedicating all actions to God, even if one's life is fleeting, as the earth-world offers the opportunity for true devotion.
