Chapter 37 explains that the root cause of being trapped in the eternal cycle of worldly existence, or Samsara, is a deluded sense of separation from the divine. This ignorance leads an individual to believe, "Parabrahman is different from me; I am not that, I am something else." The text states that he who has this knowledge of difference is always subject to death, which is followed by rebirth. The text also identifies unrighteousness (adharma), ignorance, anger, and hatred as the "nooses of death." To escape this cycle, one must cross these negative qualities. As Chapter 37 further clarifies, attaining a state of fearlessness is possible by offering every action to God and realizing the oneness of the Self with the divine principle that pervades all of existence.
According to Sai's teachings, what causes the soul to be trapped in the cycle of birth and death, and how can one escape it?
