According to Chapter s_thirty_seven, should a devotee strive to reach heaven? What is the Satcharitra's perspective on the heavenly world?

📖 Chapter 37

Chapter 37 suggests that a devotee should not strive for the traditional abode of heaven. It is described as merely a place for sensual enjoyment, and the text questions its use if it lacks the chanting of God's name. It is a place from which one falls after their accumulated merit is exhausted. Instead, the scripture points to a divine heavenly state that is a state of being—the Cosmic Self-form, free from mental grief, disease, worry, and fear. The text even equates the pleasure of Indra in heaven to that of a donkey in a dung-heap, emphasizing that the earth-world is of more profound importance for spiritual attainment.
