According to Chapter 48, what is the connection between faith, love, and knowledge, and is one more important than the others?

📖 Chapter 48

Chapter 48 explains a clear hierarchy and integral relationship between these concepts. It states that love cannot arise without faith (Bhava), and that where there is faith, God Himself resides. The text describes love as being 'fully present in the womb of faith.' Furthermore, love is presented as supreme, with the chapter declaring that without uninterrupted love, knowledge is dry, useless, and brings no satisfaction. As described in these passages, a mind of theism and a state of faith act as a lamp-dish, but it is the oil of love that is required to light the wick, which then allows the flame of knowledge to manifest. Therefore, faith is the foundation for love, and love is the essential ingredient that gives knowledge its true value and purpose.
